Exploring Work From Home Style
Fashionistas, we are still in pandemic mode and that means work from home. So, what do you wear?
My advice for all professional and work-related virtual events is as follows.
Remember that you are still in a work environment, and that means nothing too low-cut or revealing, especially when on a camera. You should feel comfortable, not sloppy. Professional, but still you.
Start by getting nostalgic with your own closet. Go into your space with fresh eyes. Challenge yourself to see the potential in pieces you’ve thrown aside. Remember, you can think from the top-up! Leggings are perfectly acceptable.
This is a great opportunity to do some custom tailoring to that WOW suit, or the jacket that seemed too large. A good tailor is a solution to so many clothing issues. Another excellent, tried-and-true option is the Little Black Dress. Simple, sophisticated, and always in style. If you feel bored, accessories are your best friends.
Still feeling uninspired? Add a killer lip in red or your favorite shade. If you have to shop outside of your own closet, you can always keep it simple. Ordering something online to compliment what you already own is easier than trying to shop for all new outfits.
This month I did some local shopping and everyone wants to know where I picked up my new “Hekaa” Kimono jacket. My great find was a bit of a splurge which I invested in from a local designer in Lowell. I like to support local designers whenever I can. Fun stuff to check out from Queen Adeline Collection. We did it all via phone!
